Beverley is a registered qualified social worker with 25 years post qualification experience. She has extensive experience of working with children, young people and their families as a social worker, senior practitioner, team manager and a strategic lead in both statutory and non-statutory settings. She has experience of developing and managing a number of teams which include leaving care, supportive lodgings, a family support team, a specialist adolescent team and was a county lead for developing the intensive family support service.
Beverley has an excellent understanding of legislation and is committed to ensuring good practice. She has experience of setting standards including measuring and monitoring performance at both local and county levels. She has contributed to the development of a number of services and within this role has been responsible for the development and dissemination of policy, operational guidance and practice briefings to support service delivery, making use of national guidelines and research to ensure the highest standards were achieved and maintained within her teams.
More recently Beverley has been involved in consulting on and developing services within a number of education provisions, mainly for young people with autism spectrum disorders and associated attention related conditions, learning disability and mental health needs. The service encourages working collaboratively with parents, children and young people, education providers and other agencies to promote equal opportunity and access to the curriculum that is responsive and needs led. She has also considered behaviour management models of intervention when working with parents of ASD young people.
Beverley also provides consultancy, training and professional supervision for a School Family Work Service partnership working across 35 schools. Beverley’s understanding of setting service/team targets and objectives has ensured multi agency working systems make the best possible use of available resources in a continuing changing climate.
Beverley is a Qualified and Registered Social Worker, Qualified Social Work Practice Educator and is an experienced Mentor. She holds a Certificate in Project Management and Development. In addition she has the NVQ assessor’s award and is a trained Family Group Conference Co-ordinator.
