A highly experienced social worker with a background in the family court system, Fareena Shaheed contributes a wealth of skills to Interface – particularly around quality assurance and continuous practice development and improvement processes.
Having achieved her MSc in Social Work in 1996 Fareena has worked in a variety of settings including statutory and non-statutory services. She has a strong background in the Family Courts both as practitioner and Service Manager. Prior to moving to independent practice she worked with a large Local Authority in the South East in a quality assurance and safeguarding role, focusing on continuous practice development and improvement.
Fareena’s expertise is in assessment, child protection, court work, care planning, quality assurance, practice development, Action Learning Set facilitation, training design and delivery.
With a strong commitment to supporting disadvantaged groups, Fareena has previously held the position of Vice-Chair of the management committee for SAHARA, a refuge for Asian women fleeing domestic abuse, and undertook the role of a trustee for Platform51, an organisation which works with disadvantaged young women.
