Camden - Early Help & Assessment Training

The Early Help session defined what Early Help is and the different aspects of support that are offered to families, e.g. assessment, action planning and team around the family. The role of the lead professional covered as well as signposting to appropriate services within the borough.

A series of one-day Early Help and Assessment Training session were also offered, which provided a more in-depth look at the assessment process. The session focused on the threshold of needs and the importance of assessments, understanding the principles for guiding and writing good assessments, writing action plans and setting SMART goals and engaging young people and their families in the assessment.

Interface linked closely with frontline managers to ensure new skills and gaps in practice were identified and supported to ensure all new knowledge was embedded into direct practice.
