Case Study Evaluation of emotional well-being

Interface provided evaluation support to West Sussex to review three pilot projects providing emotional well-being services for young people aged 12-25 years.

We evaluated and reviewed three services to inform decision making with regard to future commissioning for children and young people’s mental health and emotional well-being services.  We answered questions including whether the services were:

  • meeting design objectives
  • impacting appropriately on related services
  • whether the ‘key worker’ and ‘think whole family’ approach has been effective

We gave consideration to what the critical success factors were, how to improve the model pathway, whether to scale up the model and what service users were saying.   We also designed a monitoring and evaluation framework for the web-based counselling project to demonstrate outcomes, value for money and service user experience.

Interface are trusted by…

I was very pleased with the work completed by Interface as they were thorough and took a careful and considered approach. The consultants were professional and responsive and highly skilled at unpicking the challenges associated with the remit.

The terrain they were exploring was fairly complex in terms of the number of stakeholders and channels of communication which they grasped quickly and managed efficiently.

It was possible to access the wider team of consultants within Interface which added considerable value to their offer as on occasion additional skills and advice were required.

The lessons learned from the research, and articulated clearly in the report, have been extremely valuable and have informed commissioning intentions which will substantially improve our offer locally for children and young people.
