Isabelle Trowler appeals for more social workers in early help

Trowler recently spoke at the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Children and reported that Ofsted inspections had shown that getting earlier social worker intervention could reduce the number of children in care.

She believes social workers were key in supporting other professionals working in early intervention. Although there were tough messages about early help there were also some great instances of great work.

She also emphasised the importance of improvements to social worker training as well as reforms at senior levels of the profession ensuring that all have the skills and expertise necessary.
