Longfield urges children's centres to turn into family hubs

The Office of the Children's Commissioner for England has appealed to the government to support the change of children's centres into family hubs. Anne Longfield stated that she would like to see children’s centres have a wider role in co-ordinating services for vulnerable children and families.

Hubs were first put forward in 2014 by The Centre for Social Justice when Longfield also argued that the benefits were crucial to support children in need, focusing on the whole family. She felt these hubs were paramount in assisting those in need of services but do not meet the threshold of being at risk of significant harm.
