Support from the start: Working with young children and their families to reduce the risks of crime and anti-social behaviour (March 04)

A research paper by Carole Sutton (De Montfort University), David Utting (Joseph Rowntree Foundation), David Farrington (University of Cambridge) on the importance of working with younger children and families to reduce risks of crime and anti-social behaviour.

This report resulted from a series of discussions between leading practitioners, academic experts and policy makers about the scope for early intervention and prevention of anti-social behaviour. The emphasis has been on evidence and, in particular, on promising preventive approaches whose effectiveness has been convincingly and rigorously demonstrated by research.
