Doncaster Family Hubs – Engaging with Families

We delivered two bespoke, one-day practice-based programmes to Family Hub Coordinators and staff from across all localities in Doncaster. Consultation with coordinators identified the need for an interactive and skills-based program that would enable staff to update their knowledge, reflect on practice and create opportunities for learning, with case studies and discussions. The impact of which would improve engagement with families and increase staff’s confidence being professionally curious and having uncomfortable conversations within their roles, which would enhance their interventions and practice.

Consideration was also given to trauma informed practice and supporting the workforce.

Learning outcomes from the day included:

  • To understand the importance of effective communication and engagement
  • To develop skills needed to work in a reflective and relationship-based way
  • To improve awareness of professional curiosity
