LB Hillingdon - Trauma Informed Practice

As part of a much bigger programme of work delivering Trauma Informed Practice training to managers and practitioners in Hillingdon, we also developed a bespoke training package for the newly appointed Lead Child Protection Practitioners (LCCPs). This took the form of two workshops designed to explore how trauma informed practice could inform this new role. Using slides, activities and lots of discussion the workshops, whilst structured, also allowed for a more flexible approach to ensure that the content was specifically relevant to the LCCPs and met the needs they identified.

 

The workshops covered:

·         Emotional Intelligence

·         Having Courageous Conversations

·         Thinking about language and communication

·         Using strengths-based questioning

·         SMART Plans

·         Your conference model

 

 

The workshops were well received and the LCCPs commented on how useful it was to have space away from the day-to-day implementation to explore the role and reflect on best practice.
