LB Newham - Working with Adolescents

We were commissioned to deliver a 1-day (2 x half-days) training on the topic of working with adolescents. The training course was designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of practitioners working with adolescents, focusing on risk management and complexity.

The training session was attended by staff from a range of disciplinary backgrounds including Early Help, Voluntary and Community Groups and Youth Offending.

 Course Learning Outcomes

·         Explore adolescent development, including brain and social development.

·         Consider effective approaches to building relationships with young people.

·         Identify key issues affecting young people both nationally and locally.

·         Understand the use of technology within the context of young people’s development.

·         Learn how to manage and monitor risks both inside and outside the home.

·         Identify early signs of trauma and risk in adolescents.

·         Consider practical ways to engage young people and their carers.
