London Borough of Islington- Access Islington Team bespoke programme
Following the delivery of a successful 6-day bespoke training program, we provided the following courses to Access Islington staff to support the delivery of their Fairer Together Program:
- 2-day Staff Support and Reflective Supervision course
- 1-day Level 3 Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults (Ofqual regulated qualification)
Course content and learning outcomes
Staff Support and Reflective Supervision
- Understanding the need for regular and high-quality supervision
- Knowledge of reflective practice and critical thinking
- Exploring a range of approaches and strategies to effectively manage difficult situations arising through management
- An opportunity to feel confident in the use of the systemic model of supervision to inform practice
- The skills to create a supervision atmosphere that can safely be challenging, exploring, reflective and analytical whilst ensuring the staff members well-being
- The importance of supporting staff in identifying and managing potential future risks
- Tools that help facilitate critical decision-making and help workers to analyse information and potential risk
Level 3 Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults.
Course Content included:
- Introduction to safeguarding- definitions, legislation and guidance
- Indicators of abuse and neglect relating to children, young people and adults
- Decision making
- Multi-agency working/effective communication
- Individual/teams roles and responsibilities
- Information sharing
- Managing allegations and complaints
- Session concludes with a multiple choice assessment
