Norfolk’s bespoke Learning Content includes:
- Having knowledge of and understand the Norfolk Continuum of needs Guide and how this is applied to practice around risk holding
- Understanding different levels of risk and be able to identify appropriate interventions
- Having knowledge of the Safe Uncertainty model
- Having an awareness of systems in place, such as Joint Agency Group Supervision, to support practitioners to hold risk
- Developing skills in working with family networks to manage risk (courageous conversations)
- Considering the balance between risk and independence development when working with older young people
- Developing skills in safety planning
- Sharing good practice when working with children and young people where there is fluctuating risk.
Staff have valued the opportunity to share experiences in risk, particularly education staff and the space to reflect on their relationship to risk.
They have welcomed tools and strategies to use in practice to support courageous conversations and multi-agency relationships.
