Supporting team development -Voluntary sector organisation

We have been working discreetly with a national voluntary sector organisation to support team development. The team work in a disparate manner virtually across the country and needed to improve relationships in order to create relationships, improve and work towards sustainable outcomes. We worked with them over a period of nine months to:

  • create relationships
  • understand each other - their roles, perspectives, strengths, values, learning styles,
  • explore what good functioning relationships look like and how they can work towards that
  • consider how to build resilience within themselves and within the team
  • explore high performing team factors, consider where they are now, where they need to get, what will support them and action planning
  • consider who their stakeholders are, why they need to have good relationships with them and how to support and measure the effectiveness of these
  • explore responsibility and accountability - what are they? What are they responsible and accountable for? How do they know? Tools to support this
  • gather feedback about themselves and their team and work with this to improve

These are difficult conversations when there were problems within a team. Our facilitators are highly skilled and create a sense of safety, trust and openness which develops over a period of time.
