Claudia Venosa

Claudia comes to Interface with a 20 year portfolio of working with children and families in both the statutory, voluntary and community sector; she brings experience of both frontline work with families with complex needs, and innovative and inspiring management and leadership that draws on sound experience and theoretical evidence base. 

Claudia has a background in primary education; she has translated her ambition for children into a commitment that enables individuals and communities to make changes to their lives. Her experience of working in some of the most deprived areas in the North East have seen her provide advice on service redesign and improved performance in schools, Children’s Centres, family intervention services, specialist community projects and adult services.   She has expertise in creating and leading high performing teams through change; successfully implementing new national and local priorities with rigour and tenacity. 

Claudia is currently part of the coordination team responsible for the development and implementation of Newcastle’s local expression of the national Troubled Families agenda.  Her expertise and proven track record as a resourceful, vibrant facilitator of change means she is responsible for the workforce development and culture change aspects of the programme.  

Prior to this role, Claudia’s focus was the development of the parenting service within Newcastle which not only involved working with partners; she developed a robust quality assurance protocol.  At the same time Claudia was instrumental in supporting Newcastle to build a competent parenting and family support workforce, working strategically to embed a training pathway that supported the National Occupational Standards across sectors.   She was also invited to advise the Children Workforce Development Council on the content of the national recognised Level 4 Award Providing Intense Support to Families with Multiple and Complex Needs.  Claudia is also leading on a regional workforce development group, focusing on an emerging priority to support line managers.

Claudia is a very experienced and thought provoking trainer who delivers a number of key capacity building activities that include the Level 4 Award, Integrated Practice Training (CAF and Integrated Induction), Solihull 0-5, and a number of evidence based parenting interventions (Webster-Stratton Incredible Years, Triple P; Strengthening Families).  More recently she has joined the Newcastle Safeguarding Children Board delivering mandatory safeguarding training and Effective Record Keeping training.  Claudia is also regularly approached to write and deliver bespoke workshops and team development days. She is currently working on a suite of workshops that support effective engagement with families.

Alongside this work, Claudia is a Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapist; acquiring vast experience in working with individuals on a one-to-one with a range of complex issues.  This expertise means she offers insight into reasons for non-engagement, group dynamics and systemic practice.   

Professional Qualifications

Claudia has a Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher’s Status, and her most recent qualification is a Diploma in Neuro-linguistic Psychotherapy.
