Dawn Rees

Dawn Rees has 40 years experience in the public sector.  Former director of a number of national child mental health improvement programmes and responsible for the delivery of the DH National CAMHS Support Service, DfE Targeted Mental Health in schools and DH National CAMHS Workforce Programmes 2005-11.  Senior manager in health and local authority settings - responsible for child protection, child mental health and adult mental health teams.  Masters level executive coach and leadership mentor.  Frequently consulted by government departments, health trusts, local authorities, CCGs and the voluntary sector as an advisor on child and adolescent mental health.

Dawn specialist areas cover: Reviewing and evaluating the commissioning, planning and delivery of child and adolescent mental health services – from perinatal and infant mental health to inpatient care; Facilitating and developing relationships and partnerships between the sectors in order to enhance good outcomes for children and young people; Developing talent and effective leadership in organisations – combining in-depth analysis of organisational systems with improvement methodology, leadership development, action learning and coaching.

In 2014, Dawn was nominated as European Coach of the Year (European Mentoring and Coaching Council).

Dawn's recent work includes: CAMHS review and acute child mental health pathway review including inpatient care, Belfast Health and Social Care Board, Northern Ireland; CAMHS review Isle of Man; CAMHS commissioning review Suffolk County Council and Suffolk CCGs; Writing and delivering a six month nurse leadership development programme for The Royal College of Nursing; Individual leadership development coaching and mentoring programmes; Team development facilitation, Bolton Public Mental Health Team; Delivering training in managing self-harm in the school environment, Bolton Public Mental Health; CAMHS Review, Northern Health and Social Care Board, Northern Ireland; Principal Health Policy Adviser, Office of the Children's Commissioner.
