Jo is a highly experienced, passionate, and values-driven social work practitioner, leader and trainer with over 17 years' experience working within Local Authority Children's Services. Bringing a wealth of expertise in practice, quality assurance, and workforce development, Jo approaches her work with honesty, integrity, and authenticity, consistently weaving a relational approach throughout her professional journey.

Jo has over 11 years of frontline practice and management experience, before transitioning to work as an Independent Reviewing Officer. Most recently, she held the role of Principal Social Worker for a local authority in a hybrid position that included responsibilities for workforce development, quality assurance, and social work apprenticeships. Additionally, Jo collaborated with a local university to design and deliver a CPD programme aimed at enhancing social workers' court skills.

Jo is deeply committed to relational and trauma-informed practice, emphasising the importance of truly understanding the contexts of those she supports. Equally dedicated to practitioner development, she is passionate about ensuring social workers are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively support children and families. A key principle of Jo's practice is giving families a voice, recognising them as experts in their own experiences, and fostering genuine partnership throughout the process.

Jo has extensive experience in designing and delivering training tailored to the needs of practitioners, while ensuring alignment with specific approaches and practice models where necessary.
