Tom is an experienced and respected trainer and consultant working across the UK. He specialises in developing creative approaches to working with professionals and young people around restorative practice and mental health. Tom has led training within the Criminal Justice System, Education, Social Care, and community settings.
Tom has a background in restorative practice working as a restorative justice officer within the Youth Offending Service as a facilitator and trainer - designing and delivering courses for multi agency professionals. He also worked closely with Looked After Children’s teams and specialised in adapting restorative approaches to residential home settings. Tom has also facilitated on sex offender treatment programmes, domestic violence programmes and devised and led group-work projects in prisons and secure mental health settings.
Tom combines his restorative practice experience with his background in theatre where he trained and worked as professional mask actor for the BAFTA award winning Geese Theatre Company. He is a co founder of the Creative Research Collective a team of artists, researchers and filmmakers who work creatively with groups to explore and share difficult or sensitive topics and experiences.
Tom has a Masters in Education from Cambridge University and is actively involved in conflict resolution and peace building research and development at the Faculty of Education at Cambridge University.
