Achieving for Children - Motivational Interviewing Training

Achieving for Children are a not-for-profit social enterprise company delivering a full range of children’s and school improvement services. They identified that they wanted staff working across

Children centres, schools and social care who they wanted to undertake a 2 day programme on Motivational Interviewing.

We provided a few 2 days programmes to ensure that staff had knowledge and awareness how to use motivational interviewing as a technique. They considered the cycle of change and how to work with ambivalence and resistance. They took away skills and tools and considered how to plan for sessions, how to make and use effective plans and had lots of practice in holding “motivational conversations”.

Training was great thank you. I will use these approaches with families to improve relationships and my practice.

I will plan and practice both in clinical and clinical and team situations. I will endeavour to learn more from clients by listening more to their meaning.
