Liverpool City Council have announced plans to allocate all of the additional social care funding received from government to support their children’s services.
Plans, which are expected to be rubber-stamped by the authority this week, will support an investment of £7.7m the council are looking to make to hire an additional 160 social care staff.
After receiving criticism from Ofsted on the quality of childen’s services in the area, the move is expected to reduce caseloads and help the services improve over the next two years.
