East Sussex ATHE Level 4 Working with children, individuals and families

We are delighted that staff are about to complete and gain full certification for the level 4 qualification!

East Sussex commissioned an inhouse cohort of family workers to complete the qualification following the success of a small number of staff attending our open level 4 offer with feedback being overwhelmingly positive on the structure and relevance to the whole family working they are providing in their Early Help service.

Staff have completed written knowledge-based assignments, reflections, case studies and examples of practice in assessing need, creating SMART plans and building independence and self reliance.

The course was delivered over 7 half day virtual sessions and access to pre-recorded videos and information to support knowledge and understanding.

All staff had a number of one to one check ins and feedback sessions and a one to one professional discussion to assess practice and ability to adapt to meet a range of needs.

Staff attendance and attainment has been excellent, they have built individual strong portfolios of evidence highlighting their work with families, processes in place and reflections on areas for development.

East Sussex are in the process of commissioning a further cohort of staff to commence in the Spring 2022.
