The government has announced that Andrea Leadsom will lead a review on health inequalities amongst babies and young children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The review will look at health inequalities from birth to two and a half with a specific focus on the impact of the Covid 19 crisis, stress and smoking in pregnancy and communication and language issues. It will also consider how technology, and identify policy and services that can help improve the outcomes for young children.
Leadsom said “Infant mental health is about more than babies. It’s about improving our whole lives and striving for better outcomes that have a profound effect from cradle to grave.”
