Book now for our 3 day tutor led Family Group Conferencing interactive online training starting 3rd June.
The new Children’s Welfare Bill is expecting all local authorities to offer family group decision making so that all families have an opportunity to form a plan of family-led care.
Family Group Conferencing is an effective way of working alongside and including participation of children and wider families in decision making and planning, ensuring that their voice is heard in the process. Research shows that people who are included and informed can contribute towards change and make safe plans around the most vulnerable people in their network.
Family Group Conferences can be used in a variety of situations such across safeguarding, education, care planning, mental ill health, conflict resolution and much more. We believe in high quality training and have had our training course accredited so can confirm that it meets the high standards set by the CPD Certification Service.
Participants will:
• gain an understanding of the value and principles which underpin Family Group Conferences
• develop a working knowledge of FGCs, including understanding the skills in preparing for the FGC, managing the meeting and the process that follows
• understand the legal and policy framework within which FGC’s operate
• consider the issues involved in supporting children’s participation in the FGC process
• recognise the complexities of family led decision-making and learn skills in managing these complexities and conflicts in families
• experience the practical application of the above through skills practice
The cost of the 3-day programme is £495 + vat per person
The course will run on the 3rd, 4th & 9th June 10am – 4pm each day
