Council launches wraparound support for children and young people starting the new autumn term
Croydon Council has launched a new scheme working with education partners, youth and community groups, the police, support services, businesses and transport bodies to help children and young people move on from the summer holidays into the new term.
The organisations will be located in and around the Borough, ensuring that they are visible and approachable for young people to talk to them about any issues or concerns, and offering them guidance. The scheme started in early September and will run for three weeks.
Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon said “I am pleased that we have coordinated this visible support with many local groups and organisations. Many children and young people need additional help to get back into routine following the long summer break. We will be reaching out to them offering information and guidance for a happy and safe start to the autumn.”
