Extra £18m to Support Children’s Social Care Reform
The government has announced an additional £18 million to help councils transform early help and statutory social work services as part of the Families First Partnership reform agenda.
The funding will support the rollout of multidisciplinary family help services, multi-agency child protection teams, and family group decision-making meetings — all aimed at strengthening early support and keeping families together where safe to do so.
The grant forms part of a £555 million reform package (2025–2028) and must be used for transformation work that improves multi-agency collaboration, leadership, and workforce development.
We’re already working with some of these areas to deliver family help and reform support. Find out how we can help your area here.
