Family Hub & Early Help Practitioner Training Programme

Practitioners working in Early Help services need to have the understanding, skills, ability and confidence to work effectively with the whole family - children, individuals and families, with both complex and emerging needs.

Our 4 day course is well established and has been run across the Country with great success. We tailor make each course to meet the specific needs of your workforce to ensure maximum impact.

 This course builds skills, knowledge and confidence to ensure good practice in: 

  • Building effective relationships to work with the whole family, including understanding working with resistance.
  • Completing effective family assessments and analysis using tools and processes to identify need
  • Exploring strategies to adapt and change communication styles to meet the needs of different family members and different situations.
  • Addressing barriers to involvement
  • Building effective relationships to support change
  • Exploring the use of a range of tools to gain assessment information
  • Building effective multi-agency partnerships to create and support SMART family plans to work towards achievable sustainable outcomes
  • Developing skills and practise in attending family group decision meetings
  • Developing skills in reflective practice and resilience
  • Being proactive in promoting independence and self-reliance
  • Understanding how to identify outcomes in co-production with families to support sustained change. 

The training is practical and interactive with a focus on skills and strategy backed up by an understanding of what works and why.
