New National Safeguarding Learning Hub launched for practitioners
A valuable new national resource has recently launched for professionals working with children and families: the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel Learning Hub.
The website has been developed by the independent Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel and brings together learning from serious safeguarding incidents, national reviews, research, and practice resources in one accessible place. The aim is simple but important: to help practitioners turn learning from safeguarding reviews into stronger day-to-day practice. (childsafeguarding.independent-panel.uk)
The site has been designed with frontline practitioners in mind. At launch, the hub includes dedicated sections on:
- Black, Asian and Mixed Heritage children
- Child sexual abuse
- Neglect
- Vulnerable babies
Each section includes briefings, reports, learning summaries, reflective materials, and links to national reviews that support professional curiosity and evidence-informed practice. (childsafeguarding.independent-panel.uk)
The site also includes:
- National safeguarding reviews and thematic analyses
- Annual reports identifying patterns and themes in serious incidents
- Guidance for safeguarding partners and professionals
- Newsletters and updates on emerging safeguarding issues
- Learning resources designed to support multi-agency practice and reflection (childsafeguarding.independent-panel.uk)
The website is free to access and does not require a login. It has reportedly been developed with input from practitioners across health, education, policing, social care, youth justice, and the voluntary sector. (Newcastle Safeguarding)
For anyone involved in safeguarding children and young people, this is a resource worth bookmarking. It offers a helpful way to stay connected to national learning, deepen reflective practice, and support ongoing professional development across the workforce.
