Learners from Southside, Bath are among the latest to be awarded their Level 4 Certificates having successfully completed Interface’s Working with Children, Individuals and Families qualification.
The group included managers, senior support workers and parent volunteers all of whom were highly commended by the qualification board in recognition of the quality of the portfolios submitted for verification.
Undertaking the qualification has made a real difference to the working practices of the group with learners commenting:
“The qualification was achievable, interesting and highly valuable.”
“This is the highlight of my career so far, I have been totally inspired by the trainer to do the best job I can possibly do for families, she is so passionate about making a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and families, I’m just sad it’s finished.”
“I have used the assessment skills learned during the course to enhance my own work in whole family assessments, with particular emphasis on capturing the ‘voice of the young person’ and allowing them to tell their story.”
The training commissioner also added her firm endorsement saying “We had been talking about identifying an accredited training for our team of family support workers for a number of years and explored a few options. However, the courses available never seemed to fit our project until we came across Interface’s Working with Children, Individuals and families. The course fit us perfectly and covered so many aspects of how we approach our work with children and families. The way it is delivered is the perfect level of challenge and acknowledging some participants lack of confidence around academic study without dumbing down. The course content is engaging and stimulating and complimented the vast experience within our team.
Clare, our course facilitator was encouraging, supportive and challenging. She delivered the content with enthusiasm and demonstrated her experience and understanding of the complexities of the work brilliantly whilst allowing space for the experience of the trainees to shine through. Feedback from the team was wholly positive and I have seen their confidence in their abilities grow before my eyes."
