Hampshire County Council has received an across the board Outstanding rating for its Children’s Services department.
In a glowing report, lead inspector, Donna Marriott, has praised Director of Children’s Services Steve Croker and his leadership team for being ‘resolutely focused on continuing to improve the help, care and protection provided to children’. The team, the report says, has been supported by ‘strong political and corporate support and well-targeted financial investment’ which has supported the successfully delivery of an ‘ambitious transformation programme creating the ‘capacity, training and infrastructure to enable social workers to engage more purposefully with children and their families’.
Council leader Keith Mans said: "We have always been proud of the high standard of children's services delivered in Hampshire and of our reputation as one of the highest performing authorities in this area of work - evident in the many partnerships that we have with other councils who have sought our guidance and expertise to help further improve their own services."
