London Borough of Islington Children’s Services have been rated Outstanding after recent OFSTED inspection.
OFSTED have released their latest inspection report on Islington Children’s Services highlighting the progress made since the previous inspection in 2017 when they were judged ‘good’ overall.
This time the Council received a rating of outstanding in all areas except for the experiences and progress of children in care and care leavers which was rated as ‘good’.
Lead Inspector, Nicola Bennet, highlights Senior Leaders and council members ‘unwavering commitment to improving and enriching the lives of children and their families’.
She also points to Senior Leaders promotion of a ‘strong culture of learning and development’ which has been built on the findings of the focused visit and the joint targeted area inspection in 2018.
Bennet also comments ‘Partnership working is strong and well established and has contributed to the development and successful implementation of many creative and innovative services.’
