Young people identify the growth in knife crime as their top concern.

.A survey of over 1 million young people organised by the British Youth Council suggests that the growth in knife crime is their "top concern".

The annual Make Your Mark ballot is used to signal the topics young people would most want debated during the annual sitting in the House of Commons. Other key concerns this year include:

  • Mental Health – and the need for improvements in services and with help to be made available in schools.
  • Votes at 16 - giving 16- and 17-year-olds the right to vote in all elections and referendums.
  • Tackling Homelessness - making sure every person has a place to live.
  • Equal Pay – for young people if they are doing the same work as adults in the same job.
