Pro social modelling

Working effectively with individuals and families with multiple and complex needs requires staff to bring about change and improvements in outcomes. Using pro social modelling Motivational interviewing is powerful in bringing about behaviour change.

This course will provide you with knowledge and awareness how to use pro social modelling. You will consider strategies to support behaviour change and consider the use of language and challenge.

The course is suitable for front line staff working on the Early Help/Troubled families agenda as well as school staff, children services, those in early years settings, the VCS, Housing and Health.

  • Understand the key features of Pro Social modelling.
  • Understand cognitive behavioural theoretical framework.
  • Identify strategies to support changes in behaviour.
  • Introduce skills and tools such as: Using positive and solution-focused language;¬†discouraging, by challenging and confronting, undesired values and behaviour.
