Staff Support & Reflective Supervision

This programme is hands on and interactive and includes tools and example forms to use in practice.  On completion of the programme managers at all levels feel more confident and equipped to offer effective supervision.

Our supervision training enables leaders and managers to:

  • Identify core principles and roles in reflective supervision
  • Develop reflective practice skills
  • Identify and facilitate conversations on worker stress
  • Address worker competence
  • Identify gaps in learning
  • Explore tools to facilitate critical decision making 
  • Increase confidence to manage and ‘hold’ risk

Learning Outcomes include: 

  • Understand and recognise the need for regular and high-quality supervision
  • Develop knowledge of reflective practice and critical thinking
  • Gain knowledge of a range of approaches and strategies to effectively manage difficult situations arising through management
  • Create a supervision atmosphere that can safely explore, challenge and reflect to support analytical thinking and decision making whilst ensuring the staff members well-being
  • Understand the responsibilities of supervisees and be able to clarify their contribution to making supervision effective
  • Explore tools that help facilitate critical decision-making and help workers to analyse information and potential risk
