To provide trauma-informed care to children, young people and families professionals need to have an awareness and understanding of the impact of trauma on child development and learn how to effectively minimize its effects without causing additional trauma.
We provide a range of training packages from a 1-day introduction to a 3-day programme and follow up workshops to ensure staff engage in programmes which best meet their level of responsibility for identifying and responding to the impact of trauma. We draw on up to date evidence from research related to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's) and the impact of trauma and provide information on building trauma-informed systems, and support networks that address secondary/vicarious trauma for workers.
