Family led decision making
The new Children’s Welfare Bill is expecting all local authorities to offer family group decision making so that all families have an opportunity to form a plan of family-led care.
It is a local authority’s decision to decide which model of family group decision making will best serve the families they support after considering the evidence. We can provide support in understanding the evidence base, consultancy support in exploring the best options for you and training.
Training
We provide a 2-day skills-based course on running effective family meetings and ensuring collaboration with families. This supports the workforce to:

- Enhance facilitation skills to empower families in decision-making processes
- Create SMART plans that are realistic, achievable, and family-centred
- Increase confidence and skills in chairing and attending meetings as well as working in partnership with multi agency partners towards a collective agreement and plan.
We tailor make each programme to suit your organisations/service needs.
We also have a Family Group Conference CPD accredited course provided over 3 days. See more HERE.
