Contextual Safeguarding, an Introduction - Virtual Training

Young people form different relationships in the home, with their peers, in their neighbourhoods and in school. Understanding the ‘context’ in which young people encounter harm is central to your ability to provide effective safeguarding. 

We provide:

  • A one off 75-minute webinar for up to 40 participants which gives an overview of Contextual Safeguarding.
  • Smaller 75-90 min tailored interactive webinars for up to 9 participants.  

These cover:

  • What is meant by the term contextual safeguarding
  • Research, principles and theory underpinning contextual safeguarding
  • The five inter-related contextual themes
  • The relationship with child protection and strengths and risks associated with the contextual safeguarding themes
  • The weight of influence
  • Examples of practice
