This programme has been developed specifically to support practitioners delivering integrated Best Start Family Hub services. Designed around the latest national policy, evidence and best practice, this practical four-day programme equips practitioners with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to deliver relationship-based, child-centred and integrated support, helping local areas translate national policy into consistently high-quality practice with babies, children and families.

Every programme is tailored to reflect your local priorities, pathways and workforce. We work with you to ensure learning is relevant, practical and immediately applicable within your local Best Start Family Hubs model.

Where appropriate, programmes can be delivered to mixed multi-agency cohorts to strengthen partnership working and develop a shared understanding of effective practice.

What does the programme cover?

Delivered over four interactive modules, the programme supports practitioners to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to deliver high-quality Best Start Family Hub services.

Module 1 – Understanding the Best Start Family Hubs Vision

Developing a shared understanding of the Best Start Family Hubs model, relationship-based practice, strengths-based approaches and the practitioner’s role in improving outcomes for babies, children and families.

Module 2 – Understanding Children, Families and Development

Exploring child development, the first 1,001 days, attachment, the home learning environment, whole-family working and recognising opportunities for early intervention.

Module 3 – Assessment, Analysis and Integrated Practice

Strengthening professional curiosity, whole-family assessment, analytical thinking, planning, multi-agency collaboration and coordinated family support.

Module 4 – Supporting Sustainable Change

Helping families build resilience, confidence and independence through strengths-based practice, motivational approaches and effective professional support.

Cancellation Policy

We are very flexible and will do our utmost to rearrange training should the need arise, but our trainers obviously commit themselves to the training days agreed and so if you need to cancel at short notice we will need to charge a cancellation fee to cover their time.
