Curiosity & Conversations: Strengthening Relational Practice in Early Years
Supporting children to have the best start in life begins with meaningful relationships with parents and carers.
Every interaction with families can make a difference, especially when it is shaped by curiosity, conversation and trust.
This one-day course helps practitioners develop the confidence and skills to build stronger relationships with families and to notice when additional support may be needed.
Participants will explore how to:
• build trusting, respectful relationships with parents and carers
• use professional curiosity to deepen everyday conversations with families
• recognise early signs that a family may benefit from additional support
• approach sensitive conversations with confidence and empathy
• understand their role in safeguarding and early help for children and families
• work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure families receive the right support at the right time
This practical course is designed for practitioners working with babies, young children and families across early years, family hubs and community services.
Through discussion, reflection and real-life scenarios, participants gain simple tools that can be applied immediately in their work with families.
