Courageous Conversations
When working with individuals and families experiencing complex challenges staff are often required to have difficult and challenging conversations. Finding a balance between maintaining a relationship and keeping a family/ individual engaged can be complex and challenging.
This course is practical, and supports the development of skills and confidence in communication and listening, engaging and challenging appropriately.
Content includes:
- Considering what makes a conversation difficult and why
- Recognising and overcoming blocks, barriers and fears around having courageous conversations
- Preparing for, holding and reflecting upon a difficult conversations
- Active and reflective listening
- Supporting skills in reframing and how to move forwards
- Practical strategies for managing strong emotions
- Creating and managing boundaries and setting clear goals
- All courses are offered on a Face to Face or Virtual basis.
