City and Guilds Working with Parents Level 4 – LB of Tower Hamlets
LB of Tower Hamlets wanted to embed an accredited program into their whole family working framework. This training was to coincide with changes in the authority and a will of LBTH to invest in their staff.
Tower Hamlets have a robust and effective working model and were looking for a course to skill multi agency practitioners to a high level to be able to work with whole families with emerging and complex needs.
Interface were commissioned to provide a second cohort of training after the success of the first.
Staff came from a range of backgrounds and experience including, targeted youth support, children’s center staff, family practitioners and job center plus workers. This training ensured a shared learning experience and a common language and vision for all.
All staff were offered 7 days face to face training and completed the full 3 unit accreditation including an observation of their direct work with families. The Units completed were:
- Build and maintain relationships in working with Parents (six credits)
- Understand and use persistent and proactive intervention methods when working with families with complex and multiple needs (four credits)
- Work with families with complex and multiple needs to reduce and prevent anti-social behaviour and increase positive behaviour (two credits)
Interface are delighted that LBTH have just commissioned us to provide a third course.
