Richmond and Kingston - Achieving for Children Motivational Interviewing

Interface were approach to deliver Motivational interviewing (MI) to children social care staff including Heads of Service, Team Managers and practitioners working with children and their families. 6 cohorts of staff attended the blended learning training programme which consisted of 2 half-day online training sessions followed by a full day in-person session.  

The main objective was to achieve a group of practitioners and managers who understand the principles and skills used in motivational interviewing and have confidence in having motivational interviewing conversations with children and families. 

We delivered a training course which met the needs of a diverse staff group including Heads of Service, Team Managers, a wide range of practitioners and their specialist Families First team.
