Bradford Children’s Services taken over by new independent trust
A new trust has been formed to run Bradford Children’s Services after the City Council failed to improve support following a number of poor Ofsted reports
The Trust launched in early April and aims “to stablise, recover and improve children’s services under new leadership” and will remain accountable to but operationally independent from Bradford Metropolitan District Council.
Charlotte Ramsden the Trust’s chief executive said that their “first priority is to ensure continuity of services as they are now, while we work on what needs to change for the future”.
She said “This is an exciting opportunity to build on the green shoots of progress made in children's services and contribute to the council's ambition for Bradford District to be a great place to be a child. The new delivery model will offer greater flexibility and independence, but a strong partnership with the council will be crucial.
"As Chief Executive my aim will be for the Trust to be a key contributor to a partnership system to deliver the best outcomes for and with children, young people and their families. I am looking forward to working with all staff, plus the Trust board and its chair, to deliver the best services we can with the resources available. And I can't wait to hear what advice Bradford's children and young people have for us.”
