Attachment - Understanding Attachment & Developmental Trauma
It is important that workers understand relationships when working with families and individuals, particularly around attachment and trauma.
This training will explore tools and enhance skills to ensure you can support children and young people to access support and make sense of difficult narratives children, young people and families may hold.
We will then consider how to apply this understanding to your work with families including the implications around change in language and communication with families and partners.
Content includes:
- Understanding bonding and attachment
- Overview of the possible impact of trauma and adverse childhood events on the development of healthy relationships
- Language to use with children, young people and families to describe the relationships in their family and what they might want to change
- Consider how to support children to access and make sense of difficult narratives
- Explore how to overcome barriers to undertake effective work with children, families and carers to help strengthen families and the relationships within them
- Application to your work with young people & families

Cancellation Policy
We are very flexible and will do our utmost to rearrange training should the need arise, but our trainers obviously commit themselves to the training days agreed and so if you need to cancel at short notice we will need to charge a cancellation fee to cover their time.
