Supporting Young People impacted by violence
Criminal gangs are known to exploit children and young people in order to coerce them into carrying out criminal activity. This session will explore tactics used by gangs in order to exploit children and young people and identify ways practitioners can provide support at the earliest opportunity.
Learning Outcomes
• Examine key aspects of criminal gangs
• Understand the process and tactics used by gangs in order to exploit young people including initiation, grooming, social media and debt bondage
• Understand the wider impact of gangs on children, young people
• Recognise the signs a young person has been exploited by gangs
• Recognise opportunities to intervene and support young people at the earliest opportunity
• Explore local/national resources available to support children and young people and their families

We are very flexible and will do our utmost to rearrange training should the need arise, but our trainers obviously commit themselves to the training days agreed and so if you need to cancel at short notice we will need to charge a cancellation fee to cover their time.
