Cultural Competence; working with faith, religion and beliefs
We all live and work in a multicultural and multi-faith nation. As professionals working with children and families, we face considerable challenges attempting to understand the particular safeguarding issues arising for diverse groups of children.
We will explore, through presentations, discussions and case studies:
- The values and beliefs of different faiths, belief systems and religions
- Exploring beliefs and culture in relation to family, parenting, education and behaviour
- Intersectionality: power or complexity?
- The need for good self-awareness of our own culture and beliefs
- Frameworks for exploring the importance of faith and belief with children and families
- Steps to consider when worried that beliefs, culture or religion may be linked to abuse
- All courses are offered on a Face to Face or Virtual basis.

Cancellation Policy
We are very flexible and will do our utmost to rearrange training should the need arise, but our trainers obviously commit themselves to the training days agreed and so if you need to cancel at short notice we will need to charge a cancellation fee to cover their time.
